The world we live in.

Social media has become a fuzz and a fond companion to one individual. With latest gadgetry, it came with small packages and mobile, which only meant the capability of public to access their account and start socializing anytime anywhere. It wouldn’t be a headache if this so call helper of millennia – Social media, scooping only to daily routine but bear in mind that entry’s made can also be directed to brands and product that circulating the mass public.

Even though we live in the time of technologies, but sentiment never really loses its touch- emotions stand in our way. Sensitive issue remarks will be quickly and immediately criticize. Much has been said, this is goes to companies that found their self in dealing with consumerism. It does not matter what is the nature of the company’s business as long as it plays it right nothing will come between it.

With all the wars that has been going on, and human right issues, public becomes more aware and volatile to some extent. With the social media in their hand, they will simply post a comment that directed to one that involved on any matters at all. Many companies have suffered from this form of obstacle, the like of Starbuck, Prada, Dell and many more. Even for this big enterprise, matters like this, is hard to swallow.

This era of internet has offers credible stuff to the mass public. Minors can have their own website just by a click of a button. Thus, anti-brand websites made specially to ban those brands and products, is only 60 seconds task.  With the introduction of Apps on IPhones and Androids, it only draws brands and products closer to new war ground that filled with new obstacles.

Publics do not expect companies to be perfect, but they expect them to be sensitive and take a responsible position in terms of environmental, social and welfare issues. Overall, social media creates an open environment of virtual holistic brands and products experience. We live in the world of tomorrow but in a way it make us volatile and sense of affiliate become hazy. It is hard to appeal to every ‘nag’ as the internet has spoils the public. Maybe social media give us too much that resulted to we became soft public. Nevertheless, this is the world we live in and the companies have to deal with it.

New Media becoming Mainstream Media

New media is quickly becoming mainstream media around the globe. We become familiarize with blogging, micro blogging, RSS, widgets, social networking, chat rooms, message boards, podcasts, video sharing, photo sharing.

Although development of economic, social and cultural have widen in all markets but the global phenomenon is still the social media. Participations of creating more content are lead by the Asian markets. I would say the quickest growing platform would be YouTube in terms of video sharing although all social media platforms have grown noticeably.

Social network is one of the platform for creating and sharing content especially Facebook, where we users uploaded photos and uploaded videos. Not to forget, nowadays social network users have installed widget application. Same goes to bloggers that installed applications in their blog templates.

We are also alert that blogs are becoming the mainstream media globally and become rival to traditional media as community becoming active in reading blogs and some of them started their own blog. Plus, social media has strong impacts over brand reputation where users post opinions about products and brands on their blogs. Companies that have blogs will generate more positive interaction with their external stakeholders.

GANGNAM STYLE IS THE NEW STYLE

It is pretty obvious that everyone in the world is taken by storm of the recent viral video posted on YouTube, South Korean rapper, Psy’s Gangnam Style. And if you thought that people are over the Gangnam Style, think again. This pop sensation has become the second most-watched YouTube video of all time with nearly 620 million hits. According to YouTube on November 2, Psy'sGangnam Style music video gathered nearly 620 million views, beating out Jennifer Lopez's music video On the Floor that had been standing at number 2. However, he is still behind American teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber’s Baby with 790 million hits (India Today Online,2012).
But don’t be surprised if his Gangnam Style reaches number one soon looking at the current record which stands at 620 million hits. To spice up to that, United Nations Secretary-General admit that he was nervous at first but eventually gave in and tried the Gangnam Style moves. This was unusual because he rarely shows this quirky side of him
Earlier, Ban Ki-moon had joked: "I was thinking about you when you were coming, you know we have tough negotiations in the United Nations. In such a case I was also thinking of playing the Gangnam Style dance so that everybody would stop and dance, maybe you can bring UN style”.
On more exciting news, South Korean rapper Psy has been awarded an early 2012 American Music Awards, six days before the actual event. The 34-year-old star, who shot to fame with his catchy song Gangnam Style, has been awarded the New Media accolade for the most popular video in YouTube history, reported Ace Showbiz (India Today Online, 2012).
Psy, who is also under the same manager as Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun, will be presented with the award during the pre-show activities and to top it off, he will perform his unique dance moves at the ceremony.
It is so amazing how the new media specifically YouTube can make someone so well known and make them into such a hit. But let’s not hope that this is a one hit wonder for Psy also known as Park Jae-Sang. That is how much effect the new media has brought on especially in the social network sites. People nowadays don’t even have to come out of their houses to become so famous.

Power of the Image!

Illustration, picture, photo and images; these are some common terms that we’ve come to know and use in just about anything we do. The use of images to visually communicate information is becoming the latest trend to tell others of the places we have been, things we have done, people we have met.

Ever wonder why images can create such lasting effect? The human brain functions in such a way that it perceives visual information more quickly, fully and holds it longer in the memory. Even when reading a book most people draw a kind of illustrations inside their heads using imaginations.

The use of images is a favorite instrument especially for non-governmental organizations. It is mainly used to create a shock effect.  Furthermore, an image speaks to every language on the face of the Earth if it is done correctly.

But bear in mind, wrong images posted on a site can become viral, and thus become a PR worst nightmare for a company or publication.

Online banking which also known as Internet banking or E-banking, is one of the service developed by financial institution for their customers. This service allows their customers to conduct any financial transactions through the websites which was monitored by the institution itself. In Malaysia, there are several of financial institutions that offered online banking such as CIMB Bank, called CIMB Clicks and Maybank2u by Maybank.

Furthermore, online banking has lots of benefits that can offer to the customers. Firstly, the fees that are charged are far lower than regular bank fees. We can make as many as the transaction that we want without being charged higher like the regular bank does. In addition, online banking is beneficial for us because we are able to aware of record keeping that will be easier for us to manage our financial. The most important thing is no time constraint and unlimited service. Compare to traditional bank, it only open for five days a week from morning until 5 or 6 pm, but through online banking, customers are able to make the transaction any day and any time that they want. This is why online banking is considered convenience for all people.

In other hand, internet connections became one of the major problems of using online banking. The user must have a stable internet connection in order to experience smooth transaction via the computer. The connection might become slow and affect the transaction process. Besides, if the connection was terminated, we must re-enter all the information and make the whole transaction again starts from the beginning. Lastly is the security element. As the online banking involves money transaction, the risk of user account being hacked is still high. Even though the banks which offered online banking service guarantee about the security, still the risk is still there.

The services offered by online banking make the customer’s life easier. You do not need to drive out to the nearest bank or ATM to perform the transactions or settle up the bills. What we need is a PC and a connection to the internet. By having smart phone or device like tab is pretty much of big help to smoothen your online banking business with such as CIMB Clicks or Maybank2u.
